DRAM
Solid State Disks Ltd
Dependable Data Storage Solutions
We supply dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) modules that are a perfect fit for commercial applications such as servers, computers, gaming and commercial embedded systems. We also supply DRAM for harsh environment applications including aerospace, defence, rail, power, industrial process and control, automation, manufacturing and other industrial embedded systems.
We can supply DDR5, DDR4 and DDR3 DIMMs, plus older technologies such as DDR2, DDR and even SDRAM.

Most Popular
Our most popular DRAM product currently shipping is the wide temperature version of Transcend’s DDR5-5600 unbuffered SO-DIMM.
Available in capacities of 8, 16 and 32GB, this 262-pin SO-DIMM boasts a transfer speed of 4800MT/s, operates from a voltage of 1.1V, and has an operating temperature of -40 to 95°C.
Form Factors
We supply a wide range of double data rate (DDR) memory (DDR3, DDR4 and DDR5) devices in a variety of form factors.
These include various dual in-line memory modules (DIMMs) in the following versions and formats. DDR3, 4 and 5 are available in unbuffered Long-DIMM, unbuffered SO-DIMM. Additionally, DDR3 is available in ECC Long DIMM and registered (buffered) Long-DIMM.
Also, unlike most distributors and resellers, we can still supply many DDR and DDR2 modules as we respect that they may have been designed into equipment several years ago, but which need to be maintained.
Industrial
Embedded systems intended for use in industrial applications are likely to experience conditions well outside of those found in commercial scenarios.
We can supply wide-temperature range products that have been qualification tested in temperature and humidity chambers and operate reliably over the range -40 to 85°C. Moreover, we have DDR4 and DDR5 memory modules that have been tested over the range -40 to 95°C.
To protect the connections between ICs and the substrates on which they are placed from the effects of mechanical shock and high vibration levels (as well as thermal expansion), underfill and corner bond technologies are employed.
We can also improve long-term reliability in harsh environment applications by two other means. For instance, we can supply Transcend’s anti-sulphur DRAM modules within which the resistors have a protective layer to ward off sulphuration. Also, we can supply DRAM modules that have a conformal coating (typically acrylic) to protect against moisture, dust and chemical contamination.
Power Protection
DRAM is of course a volatile memory. When used as cache in an embedded system, or SSD for that matter, it is important that interruptions to the power supply do not affect data that is to be written to non-volatile memory such as a NAND flash.
Power loss protection (PLP) technology developed by Transcend can prevent data loss and corruption that may occur due to power failure.
It operates by using a voltage detector and tantalum capacitors to provide power to the controller and DRAM cache in the event of a power failure, allowing for a longer buffer time for data to be transferred from the DRAM cache to NAND flash. When the voltage drops to a specific value, the controller will stop accepting new write commands and enter write-protection mode.
Standards & Quality
All memory devices we supply are JEDEC compliant and have been subjected to stringent reliability tests. You can therefore rely on the performance and stability the products we supply.
Our suppliers all have rigorous quality processes in place. Indeed, our partner Transcend was the first memory module manufacturer in Taiwan (and the second in the world) to receive ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and QC080000 approval.
We also exercise stringent quality control ourselves, and we’re ISO 9001 2015 certified.
