SCSIFlash
Solid State Disks Ltd
Dependable Data Storage Solutions
Our products solve the increasingly difficult and expensive problem of repairing or replacing ageing and failing SCSI (“scuzzy”) based hard disk drives (HDDs), magneto optical (MO) drives, tape drives and floppy disk drives (FDDs) that are used in computers and computer-based systems.
At the heart of our products is bridge technology called CF2SCSI that combines proven SCSI drive architectures (SASI, SCSI-1, SCSI-2) with industry-standard, solid-state CF card technology. Recently, the bridge technology has been extended to interface with CFast and M.2 memory.
Where to next?
SCSIFlash
This is a drop-in replacement for virtually any style of SCSI-based drive, and it supports a variety of connector/interface types including Pertec, QIC DAT, DLT 3490, Jazz, ZIP and Bernoulli.
In terms of performance, SCSIFlash has a data transfer rate of up to 10MB/s, and SCSI interface is standard (narrow) 8-bit wide. The disk sector size can be set to 256, 512, 768, 1024, 2048 or 4096.
The drive supports industrial grade CF cards of up to 128GB capacity and utilizes a 3.5- or 5.25-inch form factor. It is available in three package types:
- With an externally removable CF card to be used in the same way a floppy disk, tape or MO disk would be, for example.
- The CF card is not accessible (hidden behind a plate) and SCSIFlash can be used as a hard disk drive replacement.
- Two CF cards are fitted, one ejectable and one not, allowing for hot backups.
SCSIFlash is available with an Ethernet port. This means a complete disk image (backup) of whatever is on the CF cards can be stored remotely and restored at a later date if required.

SCSIFlash-Fast
This is a drop-in replacement for more recent (1990s / early 2000s) hard disk drives with data transfer speeds of up 80MB/s.
As with SCSIFlash, this drive is also compliant with SASI, SCSI-1, SCSI-2 architectures, but is Ultra3 compliant as well. In addition, SCSIFlash-Fast can communicate via not only 8-bit SCSI but also 16-bit (a.k.a. wide), single (SE) or low voltage differential (LVD) protocols.
SCSIFlash-Fast has storage capacities ranging from 2GB to 1TB and the solid-state memory is either CFast or M.2.
As with SCSIFlash, the disk sector size can be set to 256, 512, 768, 1024, 2048 or 4096.
SCSIFlash-Fast is available with an Ethernet port. This means a complete disk image (backup) of whatever is on the CFast card or PCB-mounted M.2 can be stored remotely and restored at a later date if required.
