Our most popular product being used in AIoT applications is the 4TB version of the M.2 22110 SSD (part number TS4TMTE730P) from Transcend.

It features 112-layer 3D NAND flash, a PCI Express (PCIe) Gen4 x4 interface, and an 8-channel controller. A built-in DRAM cache enables fast random read/write speeds and improves drive endurance.

In addition, the 30µ” gold finger PCB, corner bond technology, and anti-sulphur resistors guarantee the SSD’s reliability in harsh conditions: and the drive been chamber tested in-house for extended operating temperatures ranging from -40 to 85℃.

The MTE730P family (which has capacities ranging from 512GB up to 4TB) also has power loss protection (PLP). During unexpected power outages, the built-in tantalum capacitor provides power to the controller and DRAM cache, ensuring data integrity and storage reliability.

Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) combines the technologies of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) to make real-time decisions ‘at the edge’ (where data is sourced).

Storage device performance becomes crucial when handling large volumes of data in AIoT. And we can help.

For example, we can supply Transcend’s PCIe SSDs, which feature BiCS5 NAND flash and provide high-speed read/write performance to meet real-time data processing demands.

We can also supply DDR5 / DDR4 memory modules that boast high bandwidth and low latency.

Harsh Environment

Many AIoT devices are effectively AI-enabled industrial IoT (IIoT) embedded systems, deployed in environments where there are likely to be temperature extremes, moisture, dust/dirt and possibly even high vibration levels.

Commercial memory products are often unable to withstand the challenges posed by such conditions.

We can supply memory modules and storage devices with wide temperature specifications, specifically designed to handle extreme temperatures and frequent temperature cycling. We can also supply products with chip corner bond and underfill (to provide additional protection against vibration) and conformal coatings (to protect against moisture and dust).

In addition, for many AIoT applications in remote locations or where there is an unstable power supply, power loss protection (PLP) is essential. We can supply SSDs with DRAM caches to ensure data integrity in the event of a power outage.
